Registration is now closed for the Denver North High School Chess Open Tournament. There will be no on-site registration due to the large number of players that have registered in advance. We are looking forward to a great day of chess!

This chess tournament is for anyone in grades K-12 and will be divided up into the following divisions: K-2 grade, 3-4 grade, 5-6 grade and 7-12 grade. This is a non-rated tournament and USCF membership is not required. Age sections may be combined or modified if necessary.

Location: North High School, 2960 Speer Boulevard, Denver 80211. The main entrance and parking is on W. 32nd Avenue. The tournament will take place in the library. North High School’s main number is 720-423-2708.

Times: Check-in 8:30am – 9:00am. Players’ meeting (all competitors must attend) starts at 9:15 am. There will be four games, with the first beginning at 9:30am. This is a non-elimination tournament – all players will participate in all four rounds. The tournament will end at approximately 1:30 pm.

Prizes: Medals awarded to top 3 finishers in each division in addition to each player receiving a participation medal.

Team Competition: Schools with a minimum of 5 players will be included in the team standings and awards.

Lunch: Snacks, fruit and juice will be sold during the event.

Supervision: All children are required to have adult supervision. Tournament directors will supervise the tournament area.
